2024 has been another joyous and eventful year for the PaqLab! An impressive delegation of students was present at several major events, including the IUFRO conference in Stockholm, the CUFC in Winnipeg and the annual CEF colloque. We also welcomed two new master students (Johanna and Ambre), a technician (Adreena), and a visiting professor (Pierre-Alexis). Sadly, we also said goodbye to two amazing post-docs (Masha and Shan). This year, we once again welcomed a wonderful team of 8 interns. 

It was also a very productive year, with the lab collectively publishing 23 articles, hosting 6 workshops, giving countless presentations, guest lectures, and media appearances, and even two students (Charlotte and Jérémy) taking on a teaching charge at UdeM. We also launched a new writing session club every two weeks which has helped students redact their proposals and manuscripts, share knowledge, as well as discuss and debate interesting topics. 

To cap off the year, this year’s Christmas party was fraught with adventure – including a wonderful potluck raclette, a fire alarm, a collapsed parking garage ceiling, and memories we will never forget. Here’s to 2025 and all the new adventures to come - happy holidays and a prosperous new year!
