Master's student position available with the Urban Forest Research Chair!
The urban forest research chair is seeking candidates for a master’s student position to work on a project which aims to elucidate the factors that influence the success of tree establishment in stormwater tree pits. This will help to design street green infrastructure with trees what are the most efficient and resilient to northern urban conditions. From a broader perspective, the knowledge acquired through this project will make it possible to better equip Canadian cities to manage stormwater and increase the urban canopy.
The student will work at the Montreal Plant Biology Research Institute (IRBV) within the laboratory of Jacques Brisson and Danielle Dagenais. These research infrastructures of UofM are located at the Montreal Botanical Garden. The selected candidate will also contribute to an interdisciplinary project led by an expert team of researchers from different universities, and partners from municipalities, private companies, and non-profits, thus broadening their professional network. Internships with partners and between universities is strongly encouraged.
