Kaisa starts her new post at the University of Helsinki
After 3 years with the PaqLab, Kaisa Rissanen has head home to Helsinki to begin the next chapter of her academic career. As a post-doc with us, Kaisa spearheaded three new projects related to urban tree physiology, took over two dendrochronology studies, and collaborated on several others. Now, she has funding for a 3-year project trying to quantify whether, and by how much, urban trees experience stress from their environment, which aspects of their environment are contributing to this potential stress, and are the trees less able to provide ecosystem services as a result of urban stress factors. In her own words “I will continue poking city trees with instruments, but this time in Helsinki and with the Uni of Helsinki. And I also plan to ski!”.
We are grateful that it isn’t a true goodbye just yet. Kaisa will remain involved with the lab as a co-director to Davia. We wish you all the best on this new adventure!
