Using GIS as a tool to help urban planners diversify their forests: Guest lecture by Elyssa at UdeM
This week, Elyssa gave a guest lecture in a GIS course at UdeM to third year landscape architect students. GIS can be used as a powerful tool when studying the urban forest and working with urban planners; especially in the contexts of diversification, resiliency, public health, and ecosystem services. Elyssa led a lecture followed by several activities with the students to give them concrete examples of how GIS elevates her ability to study and work on the urban forest on a daily basis.
