Rita is awarded a two-year Junior Fellowship position in Freiburg!
Rita Sousa-Silva has recently left our lab and moved back to Europe to pursue her next career steps. She was awarded a two-year Junior Fellowship within the "Young Academy for Sustainability Research" at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS), University of Freiburg, Germany. In her research project, she will be examining the role of green infrastructures in enhancing the adaptation and resilience of cities and communities. At FRIAS, she will explore questions related to the social and ecological processes that hinder or support the establishment and conservation of urban forests, and how such processes can be leveraged for advancing urban resiliency in the face of unrelenting global environmental change. Lucky for us, she will still be involved with the PaqLab, on-and-off on the pollen project(s), and as a co-director to Sarah. Congratulations Rita and best of luck in your new position!
